"The Viva Fit Club"-VLV Girls Unite!


Ihad an idea. Today I filmed a video called 'Barbarella Bodies', in which I lamented the fact that even though I have always been inspired by Jane Fonda's physique in the 1968 film, I have really done little in the way of trying to achieve my own version. While I've always been somewhat active and had a very clean lifestyle, I have never truly committed to any diet or exercise program over the years.

The time has come to develop a fitness routine in my otherwise very routined life!

Since Viva Las Vegas-The Rockabilly Weekender- is an event that many of us plan our year around, why not set April 5th as the 'finish line'? So those of you who are planning to attend the Las Vegas Weekender, join me and plan some fitness goals that you also would like to meet by the deadline! We can keep in touch via blog posts and facebook, where I plan to post weekly updates on my progress and touch base with you on yours. We can trade suggestons, recipes, work-out plans...we can even gripe about our inevitable failures along the way. I'll be starting a page for the Viva Fit Club and hope you'll all join me there. If you aren't attending Viva, you can absolutely still join the group to discuss your own Fitness goals and add your two cents! Request to join the group and I'll be happy to add you.

My own fitness goals are as follows:

1. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day
2. Work Out 4 days a week, at least 30 minutes of focused activity
3. Eat balanced meals and decrease refined flours/sugars.
4. Treat self to 'sweets' and empty calories on weekends only
5. Visit photo inspirations often, to keep self on track.

Not sure if I will make it VLV15, but I am so joining you in this! I had a baby two months ago and I would love to fit into my pre-baby clothes sooner than later.

Oh, that's just what I've been thinking about. But we won't be able to come over to Las Vegas. Instead we plan on going to Spain next year for the Screamin' Festival (http://www.screaminfestival.com/).
And I did plan to loose some weight on the way to June 4th. I have to admit I'm quite happy to have a few more weeks than you to achieve my goal^^ I want to loose 5 kilogramm and have to work on my addiction for chocolate...

Honey, I'm so pregnant with my 4th baby and doing a military move to Ft. Bliss, but I want to do this... I just won't be able to start until March (after I have my LO!) but I wish you luck, and I want to see what you do! I am going to make myself a poster of vintage chickies to keep me motivated for after the birth!

This is fantastic. I'm on a similar mission. I recommend making at least 2 of those weekly workout sessions strength training. By building muscle one can burn more calories at rest and make cardio more productive. That has made all the difference to me!!

I'd love to be in Barbarella shape! Not sure I'll make it to VIVA but I do have a birthday close to that time so thats an additional reason to make the goal. :-) Thanks for the inspiration!
