So what am I loving today? Well there are a few things.

I'm loving my local CASH SAVER food store, where everything is sold at cost plus 10 percent. Yay savings!! Plus, the local one here in Midtown Memphis has an AMAZING beer department featuring obscure and wonderful brews from obscure and wonderful breweries all over the world...they host tastings and have fantastic prices too. Loving Memphis Right now...

Hmmm, what else...I am loving Les Paul and Mary Ford doing Am I Blue...which I heard for the first time today. Is there anything more heavenly than Mary Ford's voice? I adore her guts:

Today I drove through Memphis and enjoyed seeing the crape myrtlesin full bloom. They're so pretty, they just make me sick:

Other stuff to love:
Grilled Brussel Sprouts
Just pop them into an aluminum pouch (cut the sprouts in half if you like smaller pieces), add some olive oil and butter. Add Cajun seasoning. Grill to desired tenderness. Dang, that's good.

Sherlock. Benedict Cumberpatch is really dishy. And the show is so frickin' well done. We have watched all but the final episode...and we're saving it because I'll be sad when I'm done!

Rogue Chipotle Ale:
I love-a the beer. I like to try a couple of brews I've never tried before every week and this was the beer of the week for sure. Unbelievable how a beer can be so drinkable and still have an aftertaste of adobo sauce. Yurm.

Sydney-aka 'The Golden Girl of the West'. I wish I had as much style consciousness in my whole body that Sydney has in her itty bitty fingers. Can we just talk about this whole blessed ensemble for a minute?

And my current IG crush is Dear Miss Daisy, whose perfect 'every day' hair makes me kinda wanna shave my head:

Okay,that's enough for now...:)

Cheerio!
Ashley

Hello,
I've been watching your youtube channel for the past two year. Thanks a heep for sharing your hair and make-up looks. I would've never found the most amazing brush had I not been watching your channel.
If I was stranded on a desert island and the only brush I could take with me would absolutely be my denman brush.

I was so excited to see you and A Vintage Vanity collaborate on a hairstyle together, especially an Elvis movie one.

I 've been watching the movie Gidget with Sandra Dee and I've been doing my hair in the Gidget ponytail. When I saw your video on a different way to ware a vintage styled ponytail I thought I'd give it a try.

It was so humid the day I removed my rollers, my hair frizzed so badly no matter how much I brushed. I still wore the ponytail any way. I'll try again tomorrow. When I rolled my hair on day two I did it a little differently. I was watching the Sandra Dee Gidget movie again and I noticed in the movie the sceen where Gidget has a heart to heart with her mother. Gidget's hair was set. I could clearly see she kept her hair in a high ponytail and took sections of her ponytail and did a messy pin curl ponytail set. Since Sandra Dee had bangs in the movie and I do not. I was looking through Lauren Rennells vintage hairstyle book and learned ther is a section on how to curl bangs with small sponge rolls.

I took down my frizzy ponytail got out my spray bottle mixed with water and layrite grooming spray, brushed out my nose lenght bangs, and pulled the back of my hair into a high ponytail. I cliped my bangs out of the way for the time being and messy pin curled my ponytail just like in the movie Gidget. For the bang section I did two rows of small curls with sponge rollers, row one was rolled under the next row over.
I did the brush out the next day and no frizz. I got a much deeper wave and a lot more volume and used some bobby pins to keep my bangs together. Looks more like the Love Me Tender ponytail :)
